Inflation Got You Deflated?
The article you are currently reading will cost you around $0.00, but in the spirit of inflation, you may have to pay a whopping $10.00 for copy like this in the near future. That is if Microsoft’s decision to raise it’s Xbox Live membership fee has set a new pricing trend. That’s right folks, Microsoft has increased it’s 12 month XBL service fee from $49.99 to $59.99 with additional hikes...

Medal of Honor Beta - Second Opinion
Despite how much I despised the last go I had at the closed Medal of Honor Beta on PSN [jump to my June MoH closed Beta post], I decided to give it another shot with the open beta currently running on Steam. The only reason I went in for seconds was because of some live streaming footage I saw on Justin.tv of the game where I had noticed some vast improvements in a lot of the key problem areas....

Halo: Reach - Review [A COD Player's Perspective]
I mentioned back in June that I had never played a Halo title before, but was seriously considering trying out the new edition. Well, I caved and decided to try my hand at the long appreciated and highly respected franchise.
Before I get into my impressions of the game, let me say, I am an avid Call of Duty player. I’ve played pretty regularly since COD4 with a growing group of consistent...

OnLive - Hands On
For those who may not know what the OnLive service is, it’s a pretty radical innovation in delivering games to your home. No this isn’t another mail order system where you have to wait for your game to arrive via snail mail and then hope that the crevasse ridden disc doesn’t start skipping right at the final boss battle. Nor is it some direct to your drive...

Halo: Reach - "I don't like Halo games, but.."
I can honestly say that I have never played a single second of any Halo game and to be honest I never really had the desire to. The series has always looked a bit “safe” for me, space soldiers jumping all around with sub par graphics and orange blood. The vast majority do not share my opinion on the game as Halo is one the most popular FPS titles to date. Because of that fact I just...

Medal of Honor Beta - Underwhelming
I’ll make this short. I have been beta testing the Medal of Honor [MoH] online multiplayer on PS3 via VIP Code from purchasing BFBC2 and a preorder of MoH which scored me one key.
From the two hour run I had in beta, I can safely say this game is tremendously underwhelming to say the least. Regardless of what people may say in defense of the overly saturated FPS market, there is no excuse...

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Review
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Let’s get right to it. EA has gone on the record as saying that their current title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 as well as their soon to be released Medal of Honor (reboot) will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 “killers”. So, this will be the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 review/Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comparison.
Has EA’s first...

Uncharted 2 - Closed Beta [the code hunt is over]
If you didn’t preorder a copy of inFamous or if you don’t have an annual subscription to Qore[psn] then it’s very likely that you don’t and won’t have the chance to participate in Uncharted 2’s multi player Closed Beta Testing. That was the case with me…after some searching, I was able to obtain a code, but I gave mine away thinking it would be easy to...

Treyarch hints at Call of Duty 7 [Cold War]
Wow! Right on the heels of Inifinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 E3 presentation, my Brother sends me a link to a Gamespot.com article posted on May 13, 2009 by Tor Thorsen, listing some possible details about Call of Duty 7.
According to the article, a glance at one of Treyarch’s animator’s LinkedIn resumes [name withheld], the new addition to the Call of Duty series is listed...

Modern Warfare 2 - E3 Gameplay
Well, so far I remain unimpressed. I don’t see ice climbing as all that of an exciting video game feature. They even skipped it in the demo gameplay, that’s a sign.
Additionally I don’t understand the “heart beat scanner” on the side of the gun. As far as I know, that doesn’t exist. If you had a heart beat scanner on the side of your weapon wouldn’t...

MW2: Early Concerns
Firstly here is the new full feature commercial trailer for Modern Warfare 2.
So far we can obviously see that there will be the British SAS, American Soldiers, Russian Soldiers and what looks to be some kind of Terrorist faction out of Rio De Janeiro. That’s great and all but the look they have going for the SAS and his skull masked partner is concerning. A mohawk? A skull print...

COD: Modern Warfare 2 - TV Spot [HD]
Details are slowly leaking out about Activision’s new installment to the Call of Duty series and until Sunday there was only a short, vague clip to pull any clues from.
If you were watching the NBA playoff game between Orlando and Boston then you may have caught the new Modern Warfare 2 TV spot. If you didn’t watch the game, never fear…thanks to the swift response by...

UFC: Undisputed - [PS3/360]
Published by: THQ
Developed by: Yuke’s Media Creations
Release Date: May 19, 2009
Genre: Fighting Simulation
Admittedly I am not a big UFC fan at all, but a great game is a great game and UFC: undisputed is shaping up to be just that. The way I see it, if a demo launch of a game can keep you playing over and over again, there is something good going on. I haven’t stopped...

Chernobyl - FPS/RPG [PC] 2007
The title is “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl” a FPS/RPG game based on real life events. If you are unfamiliar with what happened at the Russian Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the mid-80’s, watch the following youtube clip.
[Clip below is a real documentary of what happened at Chernobyl]

WiiSpray - Not Yet Nintendo, Why Not?
The demo shown below gives us a first look at the new WiiSpray experiment with a can-shaped controller. Granted, it would have been nice to see some experienced graffiti artists demonstrating the application..but this will have to do for now. More info below the video…
Quick look:
Martin Lihs and Frank Matuse put together the first prototype which formed the basis of WiiSpray....

Sandbox Gaming - Can it reinvent Itself?
If a little game series called, “Grand Theft Auto” is a new concept to you then welcome to planet Earth. GTA invented if not perfected the concept of free-roam game play. Go anywhere, do anything…the possibilities were almost limitless.
[Grand Theft Auto]
It’s almost cliche now to say any other free-roam or sandbox style game is trying to be GTA. At some point in the...

Operation Flashpoint 2 - A Closer Look
Apparently, OFP2 is all about precise modern war simulation. Below is a video of OFP2 at E3 in which the lead AI developer discribes how the game “has no magic pockets.” Meaning everything you do in the game is decided by you and carries all the neccesary steps and outcomes of each task.
E3 Presentation:
Below is a bullet post of some of OFP2’s details, I’ll...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 [aka COD6] -...
Official date has been set - 11.10.09
One is hard pressed to argue against COD4’s solid control layout and air tight physics engine, not to mention the very balanced unlock-able perks, an almost infinite amount of guns, customization and leveling. The formula is so well rounded that even a tired game genre like WW2 can flourish under it’s umbrella.
The release of COD: World at War...

Killzone 2 - Thoughts & Review
Killzone 2:
I’ve played my fair share of FPS [first person shooter] games, starting with DOOM and Duke Nukem in the mid 90’s. Duke Nukem was dope because it was the first game that really had me digging into the Map Editor and created my own levels. It was also the last game I did that with though, haha. Most FPS games share the same premise of load-in, shoot-to-clear and then move...
